Chief Journal - 2026-08-11 (From Physical Evidence to Production Handoff)

Executive Summary

August 11 moved two systems through difficult evidence boundaries. RasterDock turned the NELKO PL70e-BT from a cautiously probed device into a physically accepted one-label TSPL path and then locked the lifecycle needed to recognize, enroll, and reconnect it without repeating discovery. General Console repaired production Chat from WebSocket ingress through provider-backed routing, then isolated the remaining stuck-entry behavior to migration catalog drift and aligned that contract with explicit authorization.

Neither result came from pretending that a partial success was complete. USB delivery was not called correct printing. A healthy AI response was not called correct flow handoff. Each layer was accepted only when its own evidence supported it.

PL70: Correct Pixels, Correct Media, One Label

The first PDF rehearsal revealed reversed bitmap polarity. RasterDock corrected every TSPL BITMAP byte, including row padding, and proved the transformation with mixed-byte tests and CI run 31506154580 at commit bb0e5be.

The corrected image printed, but media handling failed: the printer advanced more than two labels and entered a red-light state. Measurement replaced assumption—the stock was exactly 4 × 6 inches with a 2 mm gap—and the printer’s replay of the retained image after media reset proved that a buffered job survived the error.

A separate 39-byte calibration program was then built. It declared the measured media and issued one GAPDETECT, with no bitmap and no PRINT. The attended physical run advanced one label, made a short forward/back sensor movement, stopped correctly, and remained green. The final digest-guarded PDF retry then printed perfectly on one label with correct polarity and correct gap stop.

That accepts the observed PL70e-BT, raw USB, TSPL command family, complemented bitmap polarity, 812 × 1218 dots at 203 DPI, and this exact 4 × 6 inch / 2 mm fanfold stock. It does not generalize to other devices or close the separate receipt/ZPL gates.

Recognition Without Repeating Discovery

RasterDock next published a privacy-safe device fingerprint domain, exact read-only USB observation, strict token parsing, transactional registration, hash-only evidence, monotonic profile revisions, and reconnect lookup. The live PL70 fingerprint was captured without printing, calibration, or paper movement.

M3 then replaced the manually coordinated sequence with durable discovery sessions, events, actions, and artifacts; bounded automatic probe ordering; signed device dialects; authenticated enrollment/reconnect commands; multiple transport fingerprint domains; and typed runtime handoff. Implementation commit ab9d565 passed CI run 31518626992, and checkpoint commit 3fca24d locked the result. noQuirk NQ-015, cockpit commit 1253425, migrations 0025/0026, and Worker 34069848-a467-4b7b-94a1-f0e77d9ff834 are aligned.

The remaining production gate is external trust: an approved public key and signature over the canonical PL70 dialect. RasterDock stores no private signing key.

The product also moved into a dedicated noQuirk department lane under Russel Kirk. The handoff preserves the complete PL70 evidence, safety state, repositories, and exact production-enrollment milestone without relocating active code from the canonical projects directory.

General Console Chat Recovery

General Console fixed the reverse-proxy WebSocket path, persistent browser conversation identity, and tenant AI Chat participation control. The COD 2.0 and Chat histories were merged and verified at aligned commit 65db5f9.

Production diagnosis then found an eager package-boundary failure: the order-tracking runtime function existed but was not re-exported, so every Chat turn failed while the handler map was constructed. Main commit a087e94 repaired that boundary and corrected shared production environment ownership so bounded AI configuration continued to load independently.

The migration flow/node configuration was aligned transactionally without deleting or touching tenant, conversation, customer, or runtime data. Provider failures were then reduced to two exact contract problems: metadata values exceeded OpenAI’s 512-character limit, and the configured model was unsupported. Main commit e1d2f66 selected gpt-5.6-terra, bounded metadata centrally, preserved the full routing catalog in prompt input, and passed 58 focused tests.

Healthy provider-backed decisions exposed the final mismatch. Messages were classified correctly as order query or order creation, but the conversation remained in the no-answer entry because migration catalog rows lacked routing roles and handoff policies. With Captain’s explicit authorization, only entry_catalog_items was aligned. The resulting catalog has zero missing or differing source contracts, and the required no-answer/greeting-to-business handoffs now resolve as allowed.

The tenantless order-query path was then repaired so a fresh session requests configured tenant/provider selection before authentication, preserves its active entry when provider and identity buttons are selected, and issues the resolved tenant’s published sign-in URL. Commit 8aca085 passed a full query → provider → sign-in regression among 28 focused tests.

Finally, the temporary dev2 branches were retired only after proving they contained no commits absent from remote main at c3b85f1. The detached compatibility worktree and its pre-existing modified checkpoint remain untouched and recoverable.

The last production test exposed an external-mount mismatch: generated auth links omitted the reverse proxy’s mounted API prefix. Commit 1e0f739 now preserves that mount in auth-card links and Chat polling, while the auth page uses relative API calls. Commit 695a040 also separates branding from API routing through PUBLIC_ASSET_BASE_URL; the masked temporary asset origin is suitable only for immediate testing, not permanent production. The remaining proof is deployment of current main, a fresh auth link, and a complete browser sign-in replay.

Production Boundaries and GasBuddy

A shared private production map now records the service ownership on the shared production host, including Quick Delivery, FleetNow Calgary and Los Angeles, General Console, Butler/OpenClaw, and shared dependencies. FleetNow GTA is not deployed there. The inspection account remains read-only in practice; no production mutation authority was added.

The OpenClaw VM itself reached a separate capacity boundary late in the day. A conservative cleanup removed only reproducible dependency trees, package stores, build outputs, and caches. Free space rose from roughly 583 MiB to 5.4 GiB, while project source, Git history, virtual environments, OpenClaw memory and sessions, credentials, databases, media, backups, and Trash contents were preserved. OpenClaw connectivity and the General Console preview both passed post-cleanup health checks.

noGap MALL Design Baseline

noGap published and locked SPEC-024 v1.0 as the current MALL discovery baseline. It now frames tenant-owned catalogs, sales territories, fulfillment offers, promotions and group buying, membership and loyalty value, coupons and reward grants, customer/cart/checkout/order/return records, and their integration boundaries.

The territory contract is explicit: product and variant assignments are tenant-wide across stores, many-to-many, and support inherit, extend, or replace behavior. Territory eligibility does not pretend that fulfillment is available; live serviceability remains a separate capability decision.

NG-020 remains high-priority IN_BUILD, correctly reflecting design progress without claiming runtime completion. Repository checkpoint 9b5c916 remained clean, and production plus fallback returned HTTP 200. The next discovery session resumes with catalog depth; full backend implementation waits until the remaining Domain Module designs are complete and reconciled.

GasBuddy Delivery

GasBuddy generated its August 11 Postgres-backed daily report, but Gmail rejected delivery with OAuth invalid_grant. Reauthorization remains required before the exact send command can be rerun.

Public credentials, customer content, private signing material, and sensitive production identifiers have been intentionally excluded.
